Vernon Foster
Vernon J. Foster is the president of Foster & Son Building Maintenance, Inc. since 1980. He became the Vice President of preferred Building Services in 1999. Mr. Foster had successfully provided a broad spectrum of building Maintenance services throughout California since 1965 with Foster & Son Building Maintenance. He serves as the Chief Financial Officer for The African American Wellness Project. Mr. Foster is also partner in the Diversified Food Network, LLC where he is the Sr. Vice-President of Government Affairs and Compliance.
In 1997 Mr. Foster formed the Charles P. Foster Foundation, a non-profit 501[C][3] organization to honor his father's legacy. In 2001, Mr. Foster donated 51 percent of Foster & Son Building Maintenance Services to the Charles P. Foster Foundation to be used as a training company, to provide jobs for graduates of their family restoration program and help facilitate making the Charles P. Foster Foundation financially self sufficient. Since 2002 the majority of Mr. Foster's time has been spent turning his vision of the Charles P. Foster Foundation into a reality and working with other groups for humanitarian purposes.
In late 2006 under Mr. Foster's leadership, CPFF formed a collaborative partnership with the City of Oakland, public agencies, service providers, and community members to form The Project Choice Academy. This partnership seeks to improve public safety by offering hope, support and accountability to juvenile and young adult prisoners returning home to Oakland.
